The problem
A replacement ECU is not plug-and-play.
A failed ECU can stop the repair even when a compatible replacement module is available. The replacement may not communicate correctly because it does not contain the vehicle's original immobilizer, identity, and configuration data.
- Replacement ECU causes a no-start condition
- Immobilizer and ECU data do not match
- Original module is failing or physically damaged
- Used donor ECU needs vehicle-specific programming
